What personal data we collect and why we collect it

In Contact forms

We keep information you provide in contact-form submissions for customer service purposes, but we do not share your personal information with third parties unless you direct us to do so.

With Cookies

We may collect information about your computer, including your IP address, operating system and browser type, for system administration and in order to create reports. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns, and does not identify any individual.

Cookies are in use on our site for Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that helps website owners understand how visitors engage with their website. When you purchase from us

We’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:

  • Respond to your requests

  • Set up your account for our store

When you enter a contest or sweepstakes

When you enter a contest or sweepstakes on this site, we collect your name and contact information to send updates, winner notification, promotional and marketing materials, and similar information to the e-mail address you provide. You may opt out of receiving these messages by following directions in the footer of the correspondence received.

By other websites through embedded content and tools

Pages and posts on this site may include embedded content or tools (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content or tools from other websites behaves in the same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Facebook comments

The submission and display of comments on the pages, posts and/or products of this site is through an embedded Facebook tool. Please see the Facebook Data Policy  for more details.

Printify

When you purchase products other than maps from us, you are purchasing from us as a merchant of Printify. Please see the Printify Privacy Policy for more details.

WooCommerce Services

For automated taxes on maps, the value of goods in the cart, the value of shipping, and your address is sent to TaxJar. Please see TaxJar’s Privacy Policy for details about how they handle this information. For checkout rates on map orders, your ZIP/postal code and purchased product dimensions, weight and quantities are sent to USPS. For shipping labels on map orders, your name and address as well as the dimensions, weight, and quantities of purchased products are sent to EasyPost. The purchased shipping labels are also stored on WooCommerce Services servers to make it easy to reprint, and for handling support requests.

PayPal

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.

Who on our team has access

Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:

  • Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
  • Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.

Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, keep the shop running smoothly, and support you.

How long we retain your data

We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for three years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
